We've completed 80+ projects over the last 10 years. Some were small landing pages. Some were complex job portals with mobile apps. Every single one taught us something. Below are detailed case studies from four very different clients — including exactly what we did, what it cost (roughly), and what happened afterwards.
We don't fake results. If a project didn't go perfectly, we'll tell you that too. Read on.
Client: Automotive repair shop in Doha, Qatar
Project Type: Website redesign + SEO optimization
Timeline: 6 weeks
Budget Range: $2,500 - $3,500
The owner reached out because his old website wasn't bringing in any leads. We ran a quick audit and found the problem immediately. The site was built with a cheap page builder. Mobile load time was 5.4 seconds. PageSpeed score? 32 on mobile. There was no schema markup, no meta descriptions on half the pages, and the heading structure was a mess — multiple H1 tags, missing H2s, you name it.
On top of that, the design looked like it was from 2012. Customers didn't trust it.
We rebuilt the entire site from scratch. No page builder. Clean, semantic HTML/CSS. Added local business schema markup so Google could display his hours, phone number, and reviews directly in search results. Optimized every image (converted to WebP, added lazy loading). Fixed the heading hierarchy. Wrote unique meta descriptions for every service page. Added a contact form that actually worked.
We also set up Google Search Console and submitted the sitemap. Showed the owner how to track leads.
Three months after launch, the client called us excited. His website was ranking #1 for "car garage Doha" and several other local keywords. Phone calls from the website had increased by over 50%. He later told us that the new site paid for itself within the first two months just from the extra jobs.
Quote from the owner: "Night and day difference. My old site was embarrassing. Now customers tell me they found me on Google and the website looks professional."

Project Type: Custom web development + Android app + API
Timeline: 12 weeks
Budget Range: $7,500 - $9,500
The client had an idea for a job portal connecting employers with candidates. But he'd gotten quotes from three different agencies — one said $25k, another said $15k but couldn't guarantee the Android app. He was about to give up when a friend referred him to us.
The challenge was significant: a full job portal with employer dashboards, candidate profiles, job search with filters, application tracking, and a companion Android app. Plus, the budget was tight.
We built a custom Laravel backend with a REST API. For the web platform, we built employer and candidate interfaces. Employers could post jobs, view applicants, and message candidates. Candidates could search, filter, save jobs, and apply with one click.
For the mobile side, we built a native Android app (Java) that connected to the same API. Users could browse jobs, apply, and track applications on their phones. We submitted the app to Google Play Store ourselves — it got approved on the first try.
We also added push notifications so candidates get alerts when new jobs match their profile.
The platform launched successfully. Within six months, the Android app had over 10,000 downloads. The client told us that employers were posting jobs every week, and candidates were actively using the platform. He's since hired a small team to manage community outreach, but the technical foundation has held up perfectly — no major bugs, no downtime.
Quote from the client: "Other agencies quoted me triple the price. SyntaxCrow delivered everything we needed, on time, and the app works flawlessly. Best decision I made."

Project Type: Speed optimization + technical fixes
Timeline: 10 days
Budget Range: $1,200 - $1,800
The client had a Shopify store with about 450 products. Sales were flat, and the bounce rate was over 65%. We ran a speed test and found the problem: the site was taking 4.7 seconds to load on mobile. PageSpeed score? 34. The owner had no idea why — he thought Shopify sites were supposed to be fast.
Looking deeper, we found dozens of unoptimized product images (some over 2MB each), too many Shopify apps running in the background, and render-blocking CSS/JS.
Shopify restricts some server-level changes, but we optimized everything we could. We wrote a script to compress every product image and convert to WebP. Removed 5 unnecessary Shopify apps that were adding JavaScript overhead. Added lazy loading to all images below the fold. Minified the theme's CSS and JavaScript. Set up better browser caching headers.
We also fixed the CLS (layout shift) issue caused by ads loading after the content.
The store's bounce rate dropped to 48%. More importantly, the client saw a 27% increase in sales the following month — without changing anything else. He told us, "I should have done this a year ago. I was losing money every day my site was slow."
We now run monthly speed checks for him to catch any new issues.

Project Type: Custom web application + dashboard + API
Timeline: 14 weeks
Budget Range: $12,000 - $16,000
This client had a working MVP but their custom dashboard was slow, buggy, and the previous developer had disappeared. They needed someone to rebuild the entire platform — user authentication, role-based access (advisors vs clients), real-time portfolio tracking, and automated report generation.
They had investor pressure to launch within 4 months.
We rebuilt the backend with Laravel and a PostgreSQL database. The frontend dashboard used React for real-time updates. We integrated with their existing data sources via API, built the portfolio calculation engine from scratch, and added automated PDF report generation (clients loved this).
We also set up automated testing so future changes wouldn't break anything. Documented the entire API. Trained their in-house team on how to maintain it.
The platform launched on time, under budget. The client's investors were impressed. Advisors using the dashboard reported that it was "the most intuitive tool they'd used." The automated reports feature alone saved the client 20+ hours per week of manual work.
Quote from the founder: "Working with SyntaxCrow felt like having a CTO without the CTO price tag. He understood the business problem, not just the code."

Built a property listing app with maps integration, saved searches, and push alerts. 5,000+ downloads in first 3 months.
Custom web app for a warehouse distributor. Replaced their Excel spreadsheets. Saved them 15 hours per week.
Integrated GPT-powered chatbot that answers product questions. Automated 70% of support tickets. Client saved $3k/month in support costs.
Client lost 80% of traffic after Google update. We fixed technical SEO issues, removed toxic backlinks. Traffic recovered within 4 months.
Honest lessons worth sharing
A beautiful site that loads in 5 seconds will lose to an average-looking site that loads in 1 second. Every single time.
They care about results. We stopped talking about Laravel vs Node.js years ago. Now we just deliver.
We've learned to add 20% buffer to every timeline. Nobody complains when you deliver early.
The best code is useless if the client doesn't understand what's happening. We send weekly updates, even if there's nothing exciting to report.
Every project starts with a conversation. Tell us about your business, your challenges, and your goals. We'll tell you honestly if we can help — and show you similar work we've done.
